Broadcasts

What is a broadcast?

A broadcast is a brief notice which appears in:

• live feeds (also known as activity feeds) where 'broadcast' is ticked
• in-site notification lists

The notice can:

• link to an item of content, a section, and office or a user's profile
• include a brief, plain text message
• be sent from a specified name e.g. "The Cyber Security Team"
• be targeted to members of a chosen section

How to generate a broadcast

Activate live feed (activity feed)

• Edit the relevant live feed(s)
• Ensure 'broadcast' is ticked as one of the feed items

Only live feeds with 'broadcast' ticked will the display broadcast messages.

Send broadcast

•  Go to Admin menu > Article > Live  Feed Broadcasts > Create Live Feed Broadcast
• All fields are optional
  
  • From - select a user from the database. If left blank, the name of the site will be inserted instead

Review broadcast

1. Go to Admin menu > Article > Live  Feed Broadcasts > Live Feed Broadcast List
2. Search for your News content item
3. Select the desired dates
4. Click the 'who has read this' button
