SMLWRLD Unlimited allows users to set their interests in their profile which can then be used to populate various personalised homepage features.
In addition, SMLWRLD Unlimited provides further ways customising the user experience aside from the users specified interests. The system can automatically personalise content based on other details known about the user from their profile (location, job role etc.). Finally, SMLWRLD Unlimited can infer their interests from their behaviour on the site.
In the example from the East London NHS Foundation Trust intranet below, the homepage timeline itself displays content, events, comments, replies, likes and shares that are relevant to this user. Relevance is determined by the people and collaboration spaces this user follows and any conversations they have engaged in, e.g. by posting a comment against a post for example.
In addition, the intranet surfaces content based on the user’s implied interests using the SMLWRLD Implicit Personalisation Engine. The system monitors the content the user interacts with – what they view, like or comment on – and identifies other similar content that might also be of interest - this appears to the user in “recommended for Alexander” area.
We usually, in practice, recommend a healthy mix of editorialised/centrally managed and personalised content.
SMLWRLD’s new SaaS intranets start at £180/annum for SMEs. Pricing for enterprises with over 100 users will vary. A 30% reduction on all pricing plans is available for public sector and not for profit organisations. A full breakdown of pricing can be found on the SMLWRLD pricing page.
