Edit an article

Article Edit Fields are the input fields in an article template.

Key field types are listed below with examples.

Note that article templates can be incredibly varied and are endlessly customisable, so these examples are meant as a general guide only. They may differ to the fields in use on your site.

Single line text 

Title

Every article MUST have a title, this is always mandatory.

Tags

 

Tags can:

- help place articles in specific search boxes with the same tag(s)

- add keywords to assist users searching for articles

Paragraph text

Description

Enables you to format the text e.g. designate a heading or add a link
Dropdown selection

Type of news

Dropdown lists can be updated by admins via Admin > Attributes and Dictionary > Value Attributes
Date selection

Event date

 
Button selection

Content type

Button lists can be updated by admins via Admin > Attributes and Dictionary > Value Attributes
File upload 

Digital Asset Management (DAM) preview

Upload the multimedia or document and DAM will create a preview that users can view.

Attachments / Supporting Files

Any additional files can be added as attachments. These will not have a preview but can still be downloaded by users
Person selection

Author

The author is automatically selected as you! In general, if you are the one uploading the article, keep your name as the author. Add any other relevant people as the "contact" for the article
Section selection

Related Sections

Related Sections are very important. They can control:

permissions (who can see, edit and/or approve the article)

placement (where the article appears)
